Southerners!

I had no idea how much my life would change in the past few months.... But gosh.... It has been a wonderful, crazy, whirlwind! I have been so blessed! I am going to try and do better.... No promises! I know it's been FOREVER since I have posted!!

I was reading this email today and I can't help but share it!! I laughed the whole way through it.... Need a laugh??? Keep reading!

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW THE RULES
Southerners know their summer weather report:
Humidity
Humidity
Humidity
Southerners know their vacation spots:
The beach
The rivuh
The crick
Southerners know everybody's first name:
Honey
Darlin'
Shugah
Southerners know the movies that speak to their hearts:
Fried Green Tomatoes
Driving Miss Daisy
Steel Magnolias
Gone With The Wind
Southerners know their religions:
Bapdiss
Methdiss
Football
Southerners know their cities dripping with Southern charm:
Chawl'stn
S'vanah
Foat Wuth
N'awlins
Addlanna
Southerners know their elegant gentlemen:
Men in uniform
Men in tuxedos
Rhett Butler
Southern girls know their prime real estate:
The Mall
The Country Club
The Beauty Salon
Southern girls know the 3 deadly sins:
Having bad hair and nails
Having bad manners
Cooking bad food
Only a Southerner knows the difference between
a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you
don't "HAVE" them, you "PITCH" them.
Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens,
turnip greens, peas, beans, etc, make up "a mess."
Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."
Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is, as in:
"Going to town, be back directly."
Even Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white,
granular, sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.
All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is.
They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.
Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace
for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a
big bowl of cold potato salad. If the neighbor's
trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin'!
Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between
"right near" and "a right far piece."
They also know that" just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.
Only a Southerner both knows and understands the difference between
a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the
flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.
A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as
a noun, a verb, or an adverb.
Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines,
... and when we're "in line," we talk to everybody!
Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover
they're related, even if only by marriage.
In the South, y'all is singular, and y'all is plural.
Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
Every Southerner knows that tomatoes with eggs,
bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful;
that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food;
that scrambled eggs just ain't right without Tabasco,
and fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.
When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin',"
you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!
Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk."
Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it
we do not like our tea unsweetened.
"Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at
little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway.
You just say, "Bless her sweet little heart"... and go your own way.
To those of you who are still a little embarrassed by your Southernness:
Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy
and call me in the morning. Bless your little heart!
And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding
all this Southern stuff...bless your hearts, I hear they're fixin' to have classes
on Southernness as a second language!
Southern girls know men may come and go, but friends are fah-evah!
There ain't no magazine named "Northern Living" for good reason. There ain't nobody
interested in livin' up north, nobody would buy the magazine!
Now Shugah, send this to someone who was raised in the South or wish they had abeen!
If you're a Northern transplant, bless your little heart, fake it.
We know you got here as fast as you could.

16 weeks...The Verdict

After a long awaited doctors appointment our verdict is.... A GIRL!!

We went to the doctors office yesterday for our 16 week check-up and everything was great! Avery is measuring 3 days ahead of schedule and all organs are forming and functioning just like they are supposed to.

She was being very modest and it took some work to find out her gender..... Our first attempt landed us with crossed legs and no answer... We worked with her for a little bit and hit the jackpot!

Our families could not be more happy or excited for us! We have such a loving and supporting group of people and we know Avery will be loved and takes care of, we could not be more lucky!

Chris is excited but is planning on adding a few pieces of pink camo to complete her closer at some point, but so excited!

15 weeks

YAY!!! 15-weeks!!!! In 5 days we will hopefully find out the sex of our baby!!!!!! Exciting, I know!

So far we have been in the name debate stage.... Day dreaming of what our potential boy or girl will forever be called.... Right now it is a toss-up......

Agreed upon names are - Jack Christopher Morgan for a boy, and Avery Morgan for a girl..... We like the middle names Lynn, Brooke, Jane.

We completely agree on a name for a boy but the girl name is where we get hung up. Other potential girl names are as follows -

Chris likes Taylor Lynn Morgan

I like Bailey Jane Morgan and I also like Sydney.... No middle name yet, just Sydney.

The name debate will continue I am sure....

Week 15 belly bump pic.....

This week our baby is the size of an apple and weighs about 2 2/12 ounces.

14 Weeks and Counting

We have made it to 14 weeks!!

Chris is getting excited about the baby coming, which is super exciting for me!

My energy level is finally starting to rise and my morning sickness is starting to subside slightly.
We have only 2 more weeks until we hopefully find out what we are having!! I can't wait.... I can barely stand myself right now. Lets just hope that Baby Morgan cooperates.

Our baby is approx. 3 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. About the size of a LEMON.
He or she is also starting to grow a thin layer of hair on their body and can smile.

My mind is a full of thoughts and crazy dreams.
I have had a dream it was a boy and two that it was a girl....
as well as thinking I am going to be a horrible parent....Lets hope that doesn't happen.
Time will tell.

I have become much more clumsy since I have been pregnant, which means I am a walking disaster at this point..... I couldn't walk well before. Also, I can not make a decision to save my life. I have been looking at funiture. I have been looking and looking and nothing has stood out yet.
I have found a bunch of very cool gadgets and toys and teething rings, but nothing that would consitute as a necessity. I am hopeing by knowing what we are expecting that this will make my decision making process a little bit easier...

Check back next week!

Big Announcement

Hello All,

I know it has been several months since I have last blogged. I appologize. Things have been hectic and I have not gotten around to it! On to another note...... Chris and I have a big announcement.....

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!

I am 13 weeks along and my due date is March 13, 2013 or more easily remembered as 3-13-13!

We could not be more excited to welcome this blessing into our lives. We have many projects going on at home trying to prepare for this little bundle of joy.

This picture makes my tummy look larger than it appears to me. Maybe it's because it's late at night OR maybe it's becuase I am in denial..... either way..... there's a belly shot!

PS Don't mind my mess in the background.... That is where I have to dry my hair in the morning right now and also where the nursery is under going some major changes!

Right now my cravings are ANYTHING sweet....mmmm.....
I can not eat meats at dinner time, therefore having a lack of protien.
I can not drink milk in the morning.
I am practically living off of macaroni and cheese and anything sweet.
I am not a fan of prenatal vitimans but I am sucking it up like a big girl.
I love strawberry banana smoothies.

I had lost a total of 14.5 pounds and have gained back some of it.
I am still down 8 pounds, so the doctor orded me to eat whatever I wanted, good or bad, until things started looking up and then I would have to focus on being more healthy.

I have decided that our child is going to be completely spoiled rotten.
Our families have already begun to send gifts to the little peanut or should I say "medium shirmp" (I'll get to that in a minute). We have been so blessed.
Thank you!

According to my daily pregnancy app on my iPhone, our baby has fingerprints on thier tiny fingertips. Veins and organs are clearly visible through his or her still-thin skin. His or her body is starting to catch up with it's over sized head, which now makes up about 1/3 of his or her body. Our baby is almost 3 inches long (about the size of a medium shirmp) and weighs nearly 1 ounce.

I will update again soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Final Four!!!

March Madness is a crazy time of year for any basketball fan!! You fill out your brackets and compare them to your friends. You place bets on who is going to have the most accurate bracket and then watch the insane amounts of basketball games while keeping track of your bracket to see how well you predicted. There was no exception in the Morgan Household this year! Chris and I each filled one out and then collaborated to complete one together! So far our predictions have been pretty good. Not 100% by any means but we are super excited to announce that when we collaborated we have one bracket that has Kentucky and Louisville competing in the final four! It is an exciting time to be a Kentuckian, with two teams prepresenting Kentucky in the Final Four! Around here you are either part of the BIG BLUE NATION or you are all for the Cardinals! There are all kinds of comments about the Cat eating the Bird and other crazy punches at the other team.

Just so you all know.... I am for Kentucky! Win or Loose..... They have given it their best!
